For over a decade, the Enagic Leveluk SD501 and the Leveluk SD501 Platinum were the undisputed gold standards in home water ionization. They were the reliable, heavy-duty workhorses found in kitchens around the globe.
However, as technology and kitchen aesthetics evolve, so must Enagic.
Enagic USA has officially discontinued the production of both the Leveluk SD501 and the SD501 Platinum. In their place, Enagic has consolidated the best features of both machines into one sleek, modernized flagship model: the Leveluk SD501DX.
If you were planning to purchase one of the classic models, don't worry. Here is everything you need to know about the discontinuation and why the new SD501DX is the perfect upgrade for your home.
Why Were the SD501 and Platinum Discontinued?
The decision to retire these two classic machines came down to streamlining production and modernizing the user experience.
Previously, buyers had to choose between the standard SD501 (which featured a slightly dated, boxy design) and the SD501 Platinum (which offered a modernized silver casing and multi-language voice prompts but cost significantly more).
Instead of maintaining two separate manufacturing lines for machines that did the exact same job, Enagic retired both and engineered the SD501DX—a water ionizer machine that merges the robust reliability of the classic SD501 with the premium features of the Platinum model.
Introducing the Leveluk SD501DX
The Leveluk SD501DX is the official, direct replacement for the discontinued models. It retains the exact same medical-grade internal components that made the SD501 famous but wraps them in a beautiful, modernized exterior designed for contemporary kitchens.
What Stayed the Same? (The Engine)
The 7-Plate Electrolysis Chamber: The SD501DX uses the exact same industry-leading engine—seven solid, platinum-coated 99.97% pure titanium plates.
The Water Quality: It produces the exact same 5 distinct types of water, including Strong Kangen Water (pH 11.0), Kangen Drinking Water, Clean Water, Beauty Water, and Strong Acidic Water (pH 2.7).
The Antioxidant Power: It delivers the same massive negative ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) for optimal cellular hydration.
What Got Upgraded? (The Experience)
Modern Aesthetic: The DX drops the old bulky casing for a crisp, minimalist white exterior that looks incredible on modern granite or quartz countertops.
Multi-Language Support: Just like the old Platinum model, the SD501DX speaks multiple languages, making it incredibly user-friendly for diverse households.
Smart Filter Tracking: Upgraded internal software provides highly accurate filter life tracking and automatic maintenance alerts.
SD501 vs. SD501DX: Pricing & Financing
While the older models hovered around the $4,000 mark, material costs for medical-grade solid titanium and platinum have risen globally.
The new Leveluk SD501DX retails for $5,360 (plus tax & shipping) in the USA.
However, Enagic has made upgrading incredibly easy. You do not need to pay the full price upfront. The SD501DX qualifies for Enagic's official in-house financing, allowing you to get the machine installed in your kitchen for as little as $180 per month (over 3 to 24 months, with no traditional credit check required).
